LearningExpress direct access was enabled with no library action
Austin, Texas – February 28, 2013
Biblionix today announced that referring URL authentication capability for LearningExpress has been implemented overnight for all 72 Iowa customers of its Apollo™ automation system. And customers didn’t have to lift a finger. Patrons can now log-in to their Apollo account, then click the LearningExpress icon for instant access to create their Learning Express account.
“Our patrons log-in to their library account and create their LearningExpress account. I did not have to do anything to set up the referring URL authentication. Love it. Love it. Love it. Biblionix continues to anticipate the kind of support that public librarians need to serve their patrons.” said Patricia Ipsen, Director of the New Hampton Public Library.
LearningExpress is a premium resource that is underwritten by the State Library of Iowa for all Iowa public libraries. Such resources normally require library technical staff to take time to configure the access/authentication path. To save its customers this hassle, Biblionix configured all 72 in one fell swoop.
“As soon as Biblionix heard about Iowa libraries gaining access to LearningExpress Library, they proactively contacted the company to figure out a way to add the product’s referring URL authentication to the Apollo system. They quickly implemented it which allowed the Apollo libraries, and their patrons, fast access to this new resource.” said Marie Harms, Library Consultant at the State Library of Iowa.
This typifies how Biblionix continues to help patrons better utilize their library’s precious resources as well as prevent access by blocked and expired patron accounts.
